When a Demon Hunt is in progress, you can't go back to the surface. Only when a Hunt's ended can you go back.

The Hideouts 3372610345Until then, you must create a hideout that you intend to inhabit when you're in Demon City to restore half your HP or 50 HP if you're above half.
